These dolls were first created as gifts for breast cancer survivors on the WebMD site who gathered in Williamsburg, VA in 2000. The dolls now offered are made with the same spirit of love and friendship that created their predecessors. The similarity seen in the dolls represents the sisterhood of those who inspired those first dolls.
Each doll is paired with "Hope, Laughter & Delicious Dishes", a wonderful cookbook compiled from recipes and stories from a group of breast cancer survivors that met on the WebMD site. The book was an extraordinary effort to raise money for breast cancer research. Those involved in that effort found the project very empowering in their lives as a step towards helping bring a cure for this disease as soon as possible. To date, the books have raised in excess of $100,000 that was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. $12.00 from the sale of the Angel Doll/Cookbook Set will go to that fund.
